![]() ![]() He knew a guy and the guy only wanted $10, and then the aforementioned best friend gave me all of his games (which was like SM64, Mario Kart, and Zelda OoT, among some others). I had no games, and the aforementioned friend knew I had wanted Conker's bad fur day after looking it up on YouTube/ Google. I had gotten my copy of the game in 2007 when i first purchased an N64 for $20 with WWF No Mercy. Not just the story, but the graphics and animation of the game, as well as that it was robust and had proper cutscenes with vocal dialog is pretty insane to think about within the context of the N64 and the N64's hardware on a 64MB cart is incredible. The story, is also very great, the references are somewhat dated (by 17 years and up) but it still is great and I usually play through the story mode every year, so that says something. We'd smoke some pot, order some pizza, watch some Friday The 13th, and then afterwards, rock out to Dookie and Superunknown while playing Conker's and Mario Kart! I still have a cassette tape that i recorded of me and my bestfriend having multiple playthroughs on It's War from the summer of '08. The game is a little bit overrated in my opinion, but it's still probably in my top rank of games that I have on the N64 (given, I don't have many games quite yet, but still). Overall, I'd personally recommend the game if you can get it fairly cheap (probably up to $100, I guess). My friends and I really enjoy busting out Goldenye and Banjo-Tooie out at hangout sessions, and Rare developed all three of these games, so I imagine Conker's pretty good in that regard. I honestly enjoyed the toilet jokes and chuckled really hard at two of the over-the-top movie references near the end, but to each their own, I suppose.Īs for multiplayer, my friends are either busy or don't want to hang out, so I can't say much however, I've heard it's really good. Most of it is straight-up potty humor or movie references, which is obviously pretty hit-or-miss depending on your mood or your personality, but there are some pretty funny meta jokes and fourth wall humor. The story isn't complex either, but it provides a lot of humor. The level design and progression is relatively linear, but the platforming is pretty decent and the non-platforming is damn fun (you play a flying level at one point and then a shooting level soon after.) Only thing I would point out for something like this is that difficulty can get pretty frustrating at some points. ![]() It's not nearly as complex to control as other 3D platformers on the system, as it doesn't have as many moves that Conker learns or can perform (most of them are featured on context-sensitive spots which provide funny little things for the scenario). I got it for $90 at a convention and played through it recently, and here's what I thought: Check out the sidebar to explore our network!īrowse these all at once or browse The Retro Gaming Network consists of subreddits dedicated to classic consoles, computers, handhelds, and old school gaming in general.
